People often exclaim when they see the photographs of weddings at Ellis Island that they never new you could have a wedding there.   Ellis Island is a powerful place, a place of history, a place of beauty, a place that helped define New York and our country as a whole.  I’ve been privileged enough to work with two couples on their weddings at Ellis Island, you can see a gallery of photographs from Aarti and Nandu’s recent wedding:  http://rwagnerphotography.com/galleries/wedding/ellis-island-wedding/

The Ellis Island experience begins in lower Manhattan where guest board ferries to take them across the Hudson with views looking back to Manhattan and under the Statue of Liberty.    Guest depart the ferries just as immigrants arriving 100 years ago and are ushered first to the south grounds for cocktail hours overlooking the Lady Liberty and the New York Sky line.    As the evening turns to night the wedding party and guests are moved into the great hall, which can hold up to 600.
